How much does it cost?

Studio rental is $350 per day.

Devin O'Brien, our house engineer, is $150 per day.


What is the hourly rate?

We do not book hourly sessions.

You can book a day ($350/eight hour) or a half day ($200/four hour) session.


Is there a deposit?

Yes, there is a 25% deposit (of your invoice total) due at the time of booking.

All deposits are non-refundable so please plan accordingly. 


What styles of music are recorded at BIG EGO?

We have recorded jazz, rock, pop, dance, gospel, folk, country, hip-hop, bluegrass, R&B, soul, and children's music.

Can anyone record at BIG EGO?

Yes. We are a professional, commercial recording studio.

You don't need to be signed to a record label and are welcome to do with your music as you please.


Do I need a producer to record at BIG EGO?

No. But you will need an engineer.


Can I engineer my own session?

Yes. A BIG EGO staff engineer will be present and able to assist all recording sessions.


Does the $350 include a producer?

No. You are free to hire your own producer (or not).


When can we start?

Booking is usually done 2 - 3 months in advance.

What happens if I need to reschedule?

Sessions may be rescheduled with a minimum (7) days written notice (prior to the agreed upon start date). 

Please note that rescheduling is a one time exception only and subject to availability. 

If you are unable to keep your rescheduled dates, you will be billed for 100% of your reserved session time.

No exceptions.


What happens if I need to cancel?

Sessions may be cancelled with a minimum (7) days written notice (prior to the agreed upon start date) for a refund (less the deposit).

Cancellations taking place after (7) days, will be billed for the remaining 50% of your reserved session time.


What is your "no show" policy?

If you do not show for your session you will be subject to a 100% Cancellation fee.

No refunds.


What if I'm running late?

We will be there on time, and so should you!

We will begin billing at the agreed upon start time. No exceptions.


What happens if my session goes long?

We consider a working day to be 10 hours long.

This includes the standard eight hours plus an hour of prep before and an hour of clean up after each session.

If more time is required, it is subject to the availability of our house engineer & producers schedule. 

If you are working without our producer, our overtime fee is $25 per hour. 

Fees must be paid same day directly to our house engineer. 

If additional days are required (with your producer), we kindly ask that you discuss this with him during your session.


What are the studio dimensions?

Tracking Room Dimensions: 17' x 20' x 11'

Iso Room Dimensions: 9.5' x 8' x 9'

Control Room Dimensions: 13' x 13.5' x 9'

What kind of converters do you use?

We have two different sets of converters: an iZ RADAR 24 & an Antelope Orion 32.

We suggest downloading the Orion 32 drivers to your laptop ahead of your session.


What version of Pro Tools are you running?

We don't use Pro Tools but that wouldn't stop you from running it on your own laptop.

Are there any house rules?

No smoking or drugs are allowed inside the studio.

Please be respectful to our staff. They are family and so are you!

Guests are liable for any studio equipment or property damaged during a recording session.


Are photos allowed to be taken in the studio?

Of course! That's why we made the place look so good!


What types of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard & AMEX.

All credit and debit card payments are subject to a 3% payment processing fee.

Masters, drives, data, and final mixes will not be released until payment has been made in full.


Will you master my album?

No. Please contact a professional mastering engineer like JJ Golden,  Ian Sefchick or TW Walsh..
